We purchased some really beautiful + delicious looking pears at our local supermarket a week ago, and of course they were on their last leg by the time I remembered them in our produce basket. Not the right texture to eat fresh, I scoured around for a seasonal pear recipe. We changed up the suggested cooking time, because my kiddos love dehydrated foods vs. chips… so we made “slices” instead.
Having a reason to fire the oven on a 5°F day made the process of this recipe extra special. Not to mention our home smelled amazing (once again) thanks to an oven full of healthy goodness. Our kiddos love these in lunches, or for small snacks. I have a feeling they’ll become a family staple for Christmas cooking, and so easy for the children to make themselves.
Roasted Cinnamon & Honey Pear Slices:
- 3-4 pears
Preheat oven to 225°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Slice pears as thin as possible, choosing to remove the seeds + stems (or leave them if you prefer a rustic look). Arrange the pear slices on the baking sheets, and brush pear slices with honey + sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for 45-60 minutes, checking on them a few times to make sure they’re not overdone. Flip slices and bake for another 30 minutes. Let cool & store in air-tight container.
